A Pakistani man’s arrest uncovered a gang that was smuggling drugs to the United Kingdom in lehengas. They must have misunderstood the idea of a ‘lit wedding’ based on these drug-laced lehengas.<\/p>\n
The suspect identified as Najam Rafique was arrested in Dadyal. Najam was caught in possession of several packs of heroin hidden inside lehengas.<\/p>\n
Not how you’d want your lehenga laced. All the lehengas were going to be sent to the UK.<\/p>\n
Turns out Najam is part of an international drug network which is trafficking drugs to the UK.<\/p>\n

Mushtaq is currently hiding out in Dubai.<\/p>\n Police officer Faisal Siddique (SHO) said that the arrest was made based on a tip-off that Nawabi has been transporting drugs hidden in lehengas to the UK.<\/p>\n Police caught Najam Rafique en route from Sehnsa to Dadyal in Azad Kashmir, with the drug-laced lehengas on hand on February 27, 2020.<\/p>\n Najam was traveling via a motorcycle when he was stopped in his tracks and arrested. The five lehengas in his possession were laced with 1.5 kg of heroin.<\/p>\n Once arrested he spilled the tea on the drug smuggling operation. He said:<\/p>\n \u201cIn total ten lehengas were to be sent to the UK with the drugs inside them.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Turns out he had successfully sent three drug-laced lehengas to the UK. Police are now trying to track the family that took the formal wear abroad.<\/p>\n \u201cThree of them have already been trafficked to the UK via a family, whom we are tracing, while the remaining two lehengas are in an unknown house in Kotli.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Najam’s arrest was just one in a series of raids to bust this international drug network.\u00a0While this gang is run by Mushtaq Nawabi, the mastermind is his son-in-law Hafiz Mansoor Sultani from Kotli.<\/p>\n Hafiz Mansoor is also residing and hiding in Dubai, along with another gang member, Habib Shah.
