World-renowned music festival Coachella is set to take place later this year as organizers announced on Tuesday that the event is rescheduled to October following the alarming threat of the coronavirus.<\/p>\n

The event organizers are following advice from local health authorities, who believe now is not a good time to have a mega-concert event. At least not until the threat of the deadly virus is contained.<\/p>\n

“While this decision comes at a time of universal uncertainty, we take the safety and health of our guests, staff and community very seriously,” Goldenvoice, the company that puts on the event in the California desert, said in a statement.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The two-weekend festival was originally set for April but will now take place over the weekends starting Friday October 9 and 16. Goldenvoice also postponed another music festival called Stagecoach, which is a country music festival, until October 23-25. Similar to Coachella, the country music festival is also held in April on the same grounds in Indio, California.<\/p>\n

For people who already bought the tickets for April dates, they don\u2019t have to worry as the tickets will be valid in October, and those unable to attend will be able to obtain a refund.<\/p>\n
