On March 22nd, seven friends were bored and missing each other, so they decided to collaborate and post a video on twitter. The caption read,<\/p>\n
The boredom jumped out!<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Their boredom jumped out and the song\u00a0Don’t Rush<\/strong><\/a> by Young T & Bugsey jumped in. Toluwalase Asolo, a 20-year-old, alongside six of her friends, posted a mashup video that soon became a worldwide trend.<\/p>\n

In the video lasting 1 minute and 26 seconds, these girls are seen seamlessly changing from a no-makeup look to that of a diva. While a makeup brush is used as a metaphorical baton, this challenge encourages women all around the world to embrace their beauty with or without makeup.<\/p>\n
We understand that in a period like this with nothing to do, a lot of people may slip into depression due to high levels of inactivity and idleness.<\/p>\n
So we decided to highlight the togetherness in isolation.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
However, Asolo did not realize the impact her video would leave on social media. The hashtag #DontRushChallenge soon started trending everywhere and everyone posted their own version of it, with the crux of it remaining constant throughout all the videos.<\/p>\n
In all honesty, we did not anticipate this blowing up on the internet. We were taken by surprise, but [we were] also overwhelmed with gratitude at how well it has been embraced by people worldwide. We started a movement and we\u2019re extremely proud of ourselves and honored that our idea has been recognized on a global scale.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Pakistan gets on the challenge<\/h3>\n
The video recently made its way into Pakistan. Girls from all around the country submitted their version of the #DontRushChallenge. As you might have guessed, everyone is enjoying the togetherness that these girls portrayed in the challenge.<\/p>\n
