We have all had that one favorite show that we binge-watch till it’s over. Sometimes, these shows become such an integral part of our lives, that we begin to picture ourselves in the shoes of the characters played in a drama serial.<\/p>\n

When it comes to mimicking and wanting to meet your favorite TV show character, there’s always that one character who you want to slap across the face (okay, maybe not literally) when and if you see them in real life.<\/p>\n

Remember Jar Jar Binks from Star Wars? Or perhaps King Joffrey from Game of Thrones. Both were hated by the viewers, though for entirely different reasons.<\/p>\n

Pakistani dramas are no different. Here’s a list of seven characters from Pakistani TV shows that everyone loves to hate.<\/p>\n\n

Shameela in Kahin Deep Jalay<\/h4>\n

Have you ever come across people who are obnoxiously loud, selfish and manipulative? If yes, then you already know Shameela’s role in the drama\u00a0Kahin Deep Jalay<\/strong>. Played by Nazish Jahangir, her character is always up to something evil. She then proceeds to put the blame on someone else for her mistake and get out of trouble.<\/p>\n

Shameela is definitely the\u00a0Serena Joy <\/strong>(from The Handmaid’s Tale)\u00a0of the drama Kahin Deep Jalay.<\/p>\n

Warda in Ruswai<\/h4>\n

Lo and behold, a person who fails to recognize the kindness and generosity of others. Played by Minna Tariq, Warda kept turning to her father and brother, who were toxic, to say the least. Her husband and his family, however, were sweet and kind towards this character.<\/p>\n

But Warda couldn’t appreciate them and was always seen whining.<\/p>\n

This\u00a0Ruswai\u00a0<\/strong>character has similar traits like that of\u00a0Piper Chapman<\/strong> from\u00a0Orange Is the New Black<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Saira in Mein Na Janoo<\/h4>\n

A helpless girl with nobody to turn to. Someone who is always in a series of unfortunate events. Sounds like the theme for many female characters in Pakistani dramas. But, Saira’s role in Mein Na Janoo<\/strong> topped all of them when it came to misery and hopelessness.<\/p>\n

Played by Sanam Jung, the character is in love with a man, who marries another man, and is then bullied for over 30 episodes by her ex. Even though her husband is very supportive and understanding, for some odd reason, Saira does not want to come clean and explain the troubles she’s going through.<\/p>\n

Sahiba in Raaz-e-Ulfat<\/h4>\n

With this character in the mix, we’re shifting from annoying to weird characters in the history of Pakistani dramas. Sahiba is a spoilt brat who wants to elope with a man she apparently loves. The reason being that she’s annoyed by her parents’ questions.<\/p>\n

This character from\u00a0Raaz-e-Ulfat<\/strong>, played by Komal Aziz Khan,\u00a0is very inconsistent and goes around befriending beautiful girls after their first meeting. Not only is the character vague, but it seems like she is also very shallow.<\/p>\n

Remember\u00a0Alan Harper<\/strong> (Charlie Sheen) from Two and a Half Men? Komal’s character shares many traits with him.<\/p>\n

Hamna in Ishqiya<\/h4>\n

Another character who is the epitome of innocence, or ignorance for that matter, is Hamna in\u00a0Ishqiya<\/strong>. The character, played by Ramsha Khan, portrays Hamna as this poor, stranded soul that can’t be helped.<\/p>\n

In her own senseless naivety and or selfishness Hamna destroys three lives and families. Among her own, she destroyed the peace and sanity of Roomi, Hamza and Azeem.<\/p>\n

Although, it seems like the character was made so people could empathize with Hamna but we really can’t stand her.<\/p>\n

Zamin in Thora Sa Haq<\/h4>\n

Zamin is the true representation of toxic masculinity in the show\u00a0Thora Sa Haq<\/strong>. His ‘holier than thou’ attitude and capability of coming out of problems without any hassle is cringeworthy, to say the least.<\/p>\n

Played by Imran Abbas, the character secretly takes in a second wife, only to leave her with the choice of leaving him. He is a self-righteous and self-absorbed person who treats both his wives terribly.<\/p>\n

But, nobody can blame Zamin for he is an outcome of his circumstances, right? Well wrong! Viewers hate Zamin’s guts and would have liked the show without him in the picture.<\/p>\n

Nirma in Jhooti<\/h4>\n

Nirma, played by Iqra Aziz, is an egotistical and self-centered character in the show\u00a0Jhooti<\/strong>. The character very conveniently steps over anyone who comes in her way. The character is portrayed as a materialistic woman who; treats her husband poorly; is an awful friend; and a bad daughter.<\/p>\n
