Saba Qamar has just launched her YouTube channel and in her first video, she speaks about the struggles we are facing during the quarantine.<\/p>\n
As a part of a series titled Isolation<\/strong>, the first episode brings us a soliloquy which is written by Saba Qamar herself.<\/p>\n The video depicts the routine of the actress during quarantine with a transition from a healthy state of mind to the point where one is occupied with depression and anxiety. A huge house can become a confined place when the fear takes over your mind and starts replacing you piece by piece.<\/p>\n “In this time of loneliness, I have made friends with my own self. I have started enjoying time spent, with this new companion. My emotions temporarily averted. But fear instills. Like every friend I have ever made, this friendship too won’t last and leave me deserted.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Man is a social animal after all and we all need some sort of human connection in life. ‘Because people need people’ and yet we take the people in our life for granted.<\/p>\n “Remember then, when we didn’t have time to share. and now, we long for anyone, just anyone to talk to. Now, when there’s no one to hear our plea.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Through these recurring questions, Saba Qamar invokes the existential dread one must feel at a time like this, alone at home yet aware of the destruction outside the walls.<\/p>\n Quarantine is difficult for everyone, but it has a ‘lesson’ for all of us – that we are facing this together and once it passes, we shall still stick together.<\/p>\n “There is a lesson in this for all of us… When this hurricane rests, when people reunite, somehow let this phase pass, then there will be no regrets.
