The decision to air the Turkish TV show Dirili\u015f: Ertu\u011frul\u00a0<\/strong>in Pakistan has divided the country into two groups. One group absolutely loves the show and can’t get enough of it, while the other opines that the decision to air Ertugrul is hurting local productions and is unpatriotic.<\/p>\n

Recently, Yasir Hussain shared his comments on how the show is snatching away jobs from local artists. He saw the viewership of a foreign show as a threat to the Pakistani entertainment industry.<\/p>\n

In comparison, Osman Khalid Butt has been supporting the Turkish TV show, against fellow celebs like Yasir, Reema, and Shaan, in his recent tweets:<\/p>\n

In response to Yasir Hussain’s comments, Osman Khalid Butt wrote,<\/p>\n

I don’t recall us actors finding ourselves jobless when Ishq-e-Mamnoon or Mera Sultan were all the rage in Pakistan. Nor did Turkish actors ‘infiltrate’ the local industry & replace us.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He also mentioned that instead of taking away jobs, these foreign-language shows are providing the local voice-over actors with jobs. He also wrote that supporting an international show should not be deemed unpatriotic.<\/p>\n

Plus, isn’t this creating more job opportunities for local dubbing\/VO artists?
\nAlso: praising a show like Ertugrul that promotes the importance of religion, culture & customs with nuance doesn’t automatically mean one doesn’t support the local industry.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He also mentioned that he would love to see the revenue generated from the viewership of Ertugrul for local production.<\/p>\n
