Indonesia has created Asia’s first eco-friendly mosque, which only uses plastic crates. The entire mosque is built with them.<\/p>\n

Plastic waste makes up a large quantity of unrecycled waste that ends up in landfills, water bodies, and other places that prove to be harmful to our ecosystem. We better take notes on innovative solutions to reduce and re-use plastic. This Indonesian mosque is one such idea taken to its logical end.<\/p>\n

Kotakrat Pavilion – the world’s first eco-friendly mosque<\/h3>\n

Rather than cause more pollution with plastic waste, Kotakrat Pavilion in Indonesia re-used old plastic crates to build an entire mosque and reduce waste. Plastic is not bio-degradable, which is why it causes pollution. Since it’s not biodegradable, that makes it an unconventional raw material for construction purposes.<\/p>\n

Al Jazeera shared this unique structure with the world, which is supported by metal pillars within its plastic crate walls. This eco-mosque is no small building either, it’s about 440 square feet.<\/p>\n

Besides using it as a standard mosque, the building has a ‘Space of Kindness’ for people fo just relax and chill out.
