Ever since social distancing and the lock-down was enforced in Pakistan due to the coronavirus pandemic, almost all public functions and gatherings have been postponed. One of the major blows that people had to deal with was getting their weddings canceled or put on hold.<\/p>\n

While many young Pakistanis (eager to get married and enjoy their honeymoon) complain and argue about having their \u2018big day\u2019 ruined, there is a young couple that is breaking the stereotype. That too by canceling their dream wedding and donating all the expenses to charity!<\/p>\n

Meet Zainab Chunara and Shehzaan, a young Pakistani couple who went against the norms and decided to put their wedding expenses to better use and help people in need.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe began tallying up expenses and started to think it wasn\u2019t worth putting that much money toward something that would only last a few days,\u201d Shehzaan told reporters.<\/p>\n

\u201cSomething didn\u2019t quite feel right. We wanted to use the money for something that will have a lasting impact.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A noble gesture that not many people are capable of going through. However, when it was decision time, the couple rose to the occasion and donated ALL the money they had saved up to a well-reputed NGO, the Agha Khan Foundation. The young couple was so fond of the charity organization and believed that the NGO would be an ideal organization that would do the best with their money.\u00a0 Shehzaan wants them to invest this money into poverty alleviation and education.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not all, the couple didn\u2019t just donate money themselves. As we all know that every married couple is given gifts on their wedding by their guests and relatives, which is why Shehzaan and Zainab encouraged their guests to donate to the NGO instead of giving them gifts.<\/p>\n

More power to Shehzaan and Zainab! This couple deserves all the praise and love for what they are doing.<\/p>\n
