An additional district and sessions judge granted bail to a suspect in the Mureed Abbas’ murder case. The accused, Adil Zaman, had already been granted bail in the homicide of Mureed Abbas, now he has been allowed to post bail in a case of illegal weapon possession.<\/p>\n
Adil Zaman, brother of the prime suspect in the high-profile murder case of anchorman Mureed Abbas is now out on bail. The court allowed Adil to post bail on a surety bond of 50,000 rupees.<\/p>\n

Anchor Mureed Abbas Shot Dead in Karachi Over Business Dispute<\/a><\/p>\n ARY News<\/a> reports that the court approved his bail in an illegal weapon possession case as he has already been granted bail in the murder case.<\/p>\n On July 9, 2019, suspect Atif Zaman gunned down television presenter Mureed Abbas and Khizar Hayat over a monetary dispute in Defence Housing Authority (DHA). Atif then tried to commit suicide after killing the 35-year-old TV presenter and his 45-year-old companion.<\/p>\n However, police found him on time and took him to a hospital, thus saving his life.<\/p>\n Atif Zaman was a close friend and business partner of Mureed Abbas. Mureed had invested some Rs 5 million in Atif’s tire business, and Atif owed him money.<\/p>\n On September 30, 2019, an anti-terrorism court dropped terrorism charges in the homicide case and sent the case back to a sessions court for the trial of the accused Atif Zaman.
