Fans of historical movies and especially royal enthusiasts will be delighted to hear that a new royal biopic – Spencer<\/strong><\/em> is in process.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, it was revealed that director Pablo Larra\u00edn is making a biopic of Princess Diana and he has cast Kristen Stewart for the role. The film’s title has been inspired by Diana’s maiden name – Spencer.<\/p>\n

Here Are The Details<\/h3>\n

The entire plot of the movie occurs over the course of three days and at one location. It also happens at the House of Windsor’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk. Spencer<\/strong> <\/em>will document the events that led Diana to divorce Prince Charles and flee the Royal family.<\/p>\n

This movie is what Larrain describes as ‘a fairy tale turned upside down’ and a quest for identity at the same time.<\/p>\n

“We decided to get into a story about identity, and around how a woman decides somehow, not to be the queen. She’s a woman who, in the journey of the movie, decides and realizes that she wants to be the woman she was before she met Charles.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The movie, however, will not include the accident, which took her life in 1997. Peaky Blinders<\/strong><\/em> famed writer, Steven Knight is the man behind the script.<\/p>\n

Spencer<\/em> <\/strong>is expected to begin filming in 2021 and release in 2022.<\/p>\n

The Public Reaction<\/h3>\n

Pablo Larra\u00edn is best known for his film Jackie<\/em><\/strong>, which was a biopic of the first lady Jackie Kennedy and earned Natalie Portman an Oscar nomination in 2017.<\/p>\n

Lauding Kristen’s acting chops, he said,<\/p>\n

“Kristen is one of the great actors around today… [She] can be many things, and she can be very mysterious and very fragile and ultimately very strong as well, which is what we need. The combination of those elements made me think of her.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

While fans are excited about this new movie, they were a bit shocked by the casting choice. It was indeed a piece of royal casting news that nobody saw coming.<\/p>\n

Another high-profile portrayal of Princess Diana is yet to appear in the Season 4 of The Crown<\/em><\/strong> by Emma Corrins.<\/p>\n
