Sonya Hussyn has been surprising her fans with back to back amazing projects. Her new drama Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida<\/strong> is already getting a lot of attention. She has also stepped foot into the world of web content, with her upcoming film Lockdown<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0rumored to launch on Netflix.<\/p>\n

In an Instagram post, the actress revealed that the shooting for Lockdown<\/strong> <\/em>has commenced. Sharing a photo from the sets, she wrote,<\/p>\n

“Shooting begins for our film #lockdown<\/a> , set to be released on #netflix<\/a> . Cannot wait to share it with you guys. Prayers needed.” <\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Lockdown <\/strong><\/em>features the story of a couple who gets affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This Abu Aleeha’s directorial will feature Gohar Rasheed and Sonya Hussyn in lead roles.<\/p>\n

Initially, Faryaal Mahmood was supposed to play the leading lady but due to her personal commitments and her marriage to actor Daniyal Raheal, she eventually had to leave the project.<\/p>\n

Now that Sonya Hussyn has signed up for this upcoming Netflix movie, she also shared her opinion on the development of digital content in Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Will Digital Media Replace Television Dramas?<\/h3>\n

In a recent interview, she talked about the differences between Indian and Pakistani content and how both the countries see entertainment very differently.<\/p>\n

“If you compare content, Pakistani dramas are where the most amounts of our work-efforts are invested. That\u2019s our primary entertainment content and that on global mediums eg: YouTube, have a huge reach. Our drama content is appreciated and seen across the globe through digital mediums compared to Indian dramas.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

According to her, the Indian entertainment industry has taken a lead in the production of digital content whereas in Pakistan we still consider it as a tertiary medium. However, if we take notice of the global changes, digital content will be likely to take over television dramas in the future.<\/p>\n

Sonya also believes the same and it’s only a matter of time when we will see Pakistani content being produced for international streaming platforms. It is an untapped market, and also allows content creators to experiment with creative storylines and genres.<\/p>\n
