PTV has resumed the dubbing of two Urdu drama serials into Arabic, as part of a cultural exchange program with Saudi Arabia. The program was initiated last year by former Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry.<\/p>\n

The cultural exchange program between Islamabad and Riyadh was an initiative to export Pakistani television content to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n

During his last visit, the former minister had presented this idea to Saudi officials and announced his plans to export local television content to the Kingdom soon.<\/p>\n

Apparently, three serials have been selected for dubbing which include Dhoop Kinare<\/em><\/strong>, Tanhaiyan<\/em><\/strong> and Aahat<\/strong><\/em>. However, PTV officials could not finish the dubbing process on time as they lacked budget for the latter two dramas.<\/p>\n

According to a translator expert, Dr. Lubna Farah, who is supervising the project, Dhoop Kinare<\/strong> is the only drama that has been completed so far.<\/p>\n

Information Minister Shibli Faraz has said that they have resumed working on the project and it will be soon given to Saudi Arabia and UAE to air on their TV channels.<\/p>\n

However, it is being said that it is unclear when the pending work would resume on Tanhaiyan<\/strong> and Aahat<\/strong> due to the unavailability of remaining funds.<\/p>\n

This is the first project where PTV has dubbed local serials into foreign language for Saudi viewers. It only became possible with the mutual understanding of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who wishes to modernize the Kingdom and provide new entertainment platforms for\u00a0 people.<\/p>\n
