Pakistani drama industry has recently been thriving. But every now or then, it also has its fair share of snooze fests. There are some shows that just don’t sit well with the audience.<\/p>\n

These shows can have beloved celebrities, a huge budget, and well-calculated marketing strategies, and still, they fail. Although there’s no specific formula to make a hit show, we know the audience wants to see more relatable content that they can enjoy.<\/p>\n

Some of the recent shows were really hyped and people couldn’t wait to watch them. But when they started to air, the story line soon went downhill, and viewers were left disappointed.<\/p>\n

Let’s take a look at the 6 Pakistani dramas that weren’t quite what everyone expected them to be:<\/p>\n\n

Deewar-e-Shab<\/h3>\n

Although the drama series showed a lot of potential, when it all came to an end, the viewers were left aggravated. Deewar-e-Shab\u00a0<\/strong>started off on a very strong note and viewers were excited to watch it. But, as the show progressed people were bored out of their minds.<\/p>\n

The characters in the drama showed no growth and everything remained pretty stagnant throughout the show. It was packed with lots of songs and drama, but when it came to the story line, it seemed a bit too repetitive.<\/p>\n

If that wasn’t enough, the ending of the show was abrupt and did not convince the audience.<\/p>\n

The portrayal of evil women and toxic men is not new to the world of Pakistani dramas. But,\u00a0Jhooti<\/strong> exceeded the limits with Iqra Aziz’s character.<\/p>\n

When fans of Iqra heard about the show, they were enthralled. But her character, Nirma, put all those feelings aside. Her habitual lying and manipulative behavior made everyone hate the character.<\/p>\n

Nirma’s story wasn’t the only thing that made this drama a complete disaster – her fraudulent husband didn’t do anything to help matters either.<\/p>\n

The show was ambiguous, to say the least, and many believed it trivialized domestic abuse.<\/p>\n

Qaisra Hayat is a famous writer behind shows like Alif Allah Aur Insan<\/strong>, Kahin Deep Jalay<\/strong>, and Dil Ruba<\/strong>. So, fans had a lot of high hopes when they heard about her new show\u00a0Jo Tu Chahey<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The original title of the drama Kun Faya Kun\u00a0<\/strong>got viewers excited because they assumed this show would revolve around the idea of spirituality as well. All of this paired with Imran Abbas and Alizeh Shah’s appearance together was enough to get everyone excited.<\/p>\n

But as soon as the show started to air, people realized this is another below-average show that revolves around the concept of cousin love, love triangles, and manipulation.<\/p>\n

The main characters were made to look like saints while others were filled with toxicity. Overall, this was filled with negative characters that we see in most of the basic Pakistani dramas.<\/p>\n

Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor were paired together for the first time after their marriage for this show. However, as people watched this drama, they soon realized it doesn’t offer anything unique and different.<\/p>\n

A love triangle, getting divorced on the wedding night, blaming the love of your life for all of your mishaps – this drama proved to be a massive failure. From cunning relatives to helpless lead characters, Meherposh had nothing the viewers wanted.<\/p>\n

The hype that was surrounding this show died sooner than everyone expected.<\/p>\n

Sabaat<\/h3>\n

Sabaat was a highly anticipated show because of its powerful and talented cast. Especially Usman Mukhtar, whose fans were counting days and waiting impatiently to watch his brilliant acting.<\/p>\n

Although the viewers had to wait for Usman’s entry in the drama series\u00a0Sabaat<\/strong>, his character didn’t really change anyone’s views about the show. Viewers saw lots of similarities between Mawra Hocane’s character, Anaya, and Kashf from Zindagi Gulzar Hai<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

People couldn’t help but wonder if Sabaat was different than all the other shows out there. Although Miraal’s character seems like it might have been difficult for Sarah Khan to play, it is also difficult for viewers to watch her.<\/p>\n

Pakistani dramas filled with exaggerated and repetitive scenarios is nothing new, but to have a psychiatrist and his patient fall in love was just below the belt.<\/p>\n

Everyone got to see Zara Noor Abbas with her husband Asad Siddique for the first time in a drama series. Unfortunately, the unnecessary and overstated characters turned this show into an enigma.<\/p>\n

With an overload of information and useless scenarios ineffectively adjusted in the initial episodes of the show, everyone seems quite confused.<\/p>\n

It might be too early to say where this show will take its viewers, but let’s hope for the best.<\/p>\n
