The Turkish drama Ertugrul <\/strong>continues to grow in popularity as more and more people are looking forward to binging the series on Netflix or PTV.<\/p>\n

Since this is a foreign show with better content and production, many of our local \u2018talent\u2019 are feeling insecure. The latest celebrity to share his dismissive views about Ertugrul <\/strong>is actor and director Syed Noor.<\/p>\n

The historical epic tells the story of Ertugrul Ghazi, the father of Osman I, who established the Ottoman Empire. The series is filled with action-packed war sequences, brilliant storytelling, and honorable figures that value Islamic teaching and bravery.<\/p>\n

However, famous Pakistani director Syed Noor has a hard time understanding what the show is about and why is it so popular.<\/p>\n

According to the veteran film director, the drama only has four horses that run here and there. (And the horses weren\u2019t all white!)<\/p>\n

Before anyone attacks Syed Noor, in his defense, he did watch two full episodes of the drama. It just wasn\u2019t up to the \u2018renowned\u2019 director\u2019s standards.<\/p>\n

Syed Noor expressed his views during an interview that he watched the series a year ago and found nothing of interest.<\/p>\n

We have to take him up on his word as his filmography speaks for itself. Known for making such \u2018classics\u2019 like Majajan<\/strong>, Buddha Gujjar <\/strong>and who can forget about the Oscar-snub that was Jungle Queen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Producers for Ertugrul<\/strong> should take notes. For instance, Ertugrul Ghazi should ride a white horse, shout when he talks, grow a big mustache, and maybe have Halima dance around, sarcastically speaking of course.<\/p>\n

Syed Noor wants a show on this Muslim hero<\/h3>\n

When asked if not Ertugrul, which Muslim historic figure should there be a show about, Syed Noor mentioned Mohammad Bin Qasim.<\/p>\n

The director said he would love to see the journey and struggle of Mohammad Bin Qasim at the time when there was no Islam in the subcontinent.<\/p>\n

All our directors and actors\u2019 job is to suggest good ideas such as this. In fact, they are in a position to actually make a show like that for us. But what do they do instead? Complaining.<\/p>\n
