Pakistani film and TV actress, Armeena Khan, has a massive fan following in the country. However, it has been a long time since we saw the Janaan<\/strong> actress in any show or movie.<\/p>\n

The release of\u00a0Ertugrul<\/strong> in Pakistan sparked a huge debate regarding the Pakistani entertainment industry. Many enthusiasts, including some actors, have spoken openly about the repetitive storylines and stereotypical characters that seem to populate most Pakistani shows.<\/p>\n

The main theme of many shows revolving around love-triangles, an aggressive mother-in-law and a helpless main character, has the audience questioning the producers’ creative abilities.<\/p>\n

Since her debut in Pakistan, we’ve seen Armeena in many different shows and movies. The\u00a0Mohabbat Ab Nahi Hogi<\/strong> star has been nominated for many different awards in her career.<\/p>\n

All this begs the question. Did she leave the industry?<\/p>\n

Armeena Khan responds<\/h3>\n

In a comment on her Instagram account, one fan asked her why we haven’t seen her in any recent project:<\/p>\n

Why aren’t you appearing in TV shows these days? In fact, we haven’t seen you in dramas for a long time now.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We love you and we want to see you in dramas.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Answering the fan’s question, the\u00a0Bin Roye<\/strong> star gave an elaborate explanation. She said:<\/p>\n

This is an interesting question, so I will try to give a detailed answer.<\/p>\n

People work for two reasons:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Because they need financial stability (thankfully, that wasn’t the case for me),<\/li>\n
  2. Because they have a passion or an incentive.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/blockquote>\n

    She added that she worked in the media industry for the second reason. But now, the 33-year-old said she no longer has the passion to work because of the scripts she was being offered.<\/p>\n

    I used to get angry at the kind of projects that were coming my way. Why would you work for something that is killing your passion?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

     <\/p>\n

    The\u00a0Sherdil<\/strong> actress believes it’s not the actors’ or audience’s fault. It is the system that is crooked. Also stressing on the point that anywhere else, a spot boy is as respected as the producers, which is not the case in Pakistan.<\/p>\n

    She hopes to get a decent project one day, which is when she plans to return to the Pakistani drama industry. Till then her plan is to entertain Pakistani fans from Canada.<\/p>\n
