The annual Hajj pilgrimage typically brings 2 million Muslims to Mecca. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Saudi Arabia has scaled back the pilgrimage, allowing only 1,000 pilgrims to perform Hajj this year.<\/p>\n

With the changing times due to the coronavirus outbreak, Hajj in 2020 is unlike any other. Strict healthcare guidelines and social distancing are being followed to ensure that everyone stays safe and protected.<\/p>\n

Holy water will be consumed from single-use bottles. Face masks are mandatory. Instead of jostling shoulder to shoulder, pilgrims will circle Kaaba with 1.5 meters of space between them. And they will get sterilized pebbles to throw at pillars that symbolize the devil.<\/p>\n

People are in awe to witness this rare and tranquil sight of Kaaba. Hajj 2020 is sure different, but it gives us the message to stay calm and strong in the face of adversity.<\/p>\n
