Safia Rani, a medical student in London, has appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan as well as requested the Supreme Court of Pakistan to help her find justice for her murdered sister Dr. Asma Rani.<\/p>\n

Safia has asked the court to reinstate murder clauses in her sister\u2019s two-year-long case, calling to be an act of terrorism.<\/p>\n

The incident took place two years ago in 2018, when a doctor from Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) was gunned down by a man for rejecting his marriage proposal.<\/p>\n

The former Chief Justice at the time, Saqib Nisar, had taken \u2018suo moto\u2019 notice of the incident. The culprit responsible for the death of Asma is identified as Mujahid Afridi. The apex court has ordered to continue the trial of the Asma Rani\u2019s murder in regular court instead of an anti-terrorism court (ATC).<\/p>\n

The directives were issued by a three-member bench of the Supreme Court, which was headed by Justice Mushir Alam. The bench argued that the victim\u2019s death was due to personal enmity for turning down a marriage proposal.<\/p>\n

Safia, however, claims it to be an act of terrorism as she accused Mujahid Afridi, Sadiqullah Afridi and Shahzaib Khattak for terrorizing the whole family in broad daylight as they gunned down her sister.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was terrorism. That was an open violation of the laws of Pakistan. The killers ruined our lives. I appeal to the apex court to look into our request. We want this trial conducted in an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) and sections of terrorism in the FIR to be reinstated,” she said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
