<\/p>\nPakistan is set to restore the traditional townhouse of the renowned Kapoor family of India – the Kapoor Haveli, which is situated in Peshawar.<\/p>\n
The mansion, which was built by Dewan Basheswarnath Kapoor in 1922, will receive a makeover under special projects by the government of Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the two-story was under threat of demolition as its owner cannot afford renovations. The building needs urgent attention, which is why its front door has been sealed by the government to stop further deterioration.<\/p>\n
Dr. Abdul Samad, director of archeology and museums in KPK has declared the building as a heritage site and is looking forward to convert it into a museum.<\/p>\n

But after partition, the family shifted to India, and the building was left under the care of the locals.<\/p>\n Bollywood actor Randhir Kapoor states that even though it is Pakistan\u2019s prerogative, he hopes that the Haveli is restored to its previous glory to honor memories of the Kapoor family.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Kapoors do not own the Kapoor Haveli.
