It seems like the public has not forgotten about J.K Rowling\u2019s controversial statements regarding the transgender community as the Kennedy Human Rights Organization have decided to express their dismay at the author\u2019s remarks.<\/p>\n

At a time when protests about inequality are at an all-time high, the renowned author of the Harry Potter <\/strong>franchise as well as the Fantastic Beasts<\/strong> series, J.K Rowling finds herself in hot waters due to her recent comments related to non-binary, non-gender, and transgender communities.<\/p>\n

While the author clarified that she did not mean to offend anyone, the public backlash against the world-renowned author has been immense. Even several stars from the Harry Potter <\/strong>movies, including Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, have distanced themselves from the author.<\/p>\n

Now, even the president of the human rights organization that awarded her the prestigious Ripple of Hope honor last year, has expressed his disappointment at the author\u2019s words. He had this to say:<\/p>\n

“I have spoken with J.K. Rowling to express my profound disappointment that she has chosen to use her remarkable gifts to create a narrative that diminishes the identity of trans and non-binary people, undermining the validity and integrity of the entire transgender community. One that disproportionately suffers from violence, discrimination, harassment, and exclusion and, as a result, experiences high rates of suicide, suicide attempts, homelessness, and mental and bodily harm.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In response, J.K Rowling remains undeterred about her stance. The Harry Potter <\/strong>author took to her official website to state that she feels there is no other option but to return the award since there is a \u201cvery serious conflict of views\u201d between her and the organization.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo award or honor, no matter my admiration for the person for whom it was named, means so much to me that I would forfeit the right to follow the dictates of my own conscience,\u201d she responded.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
