TikTok has been a source of entertainment for many for quite some time now. However, there is been a huge debate over whether or not that app should be banned in Pakistan. A man recently took matters into his own hands as he took the case to court.<\/p>\n
The petitioner has filed a case against it in Peshawar High Court, requesting a ban on the Chinese video-sharing app. He has presented his case, saying that this app promotes vulgarity and pornographic content.<\/p>\n
Before taking matters to court, he also reported his concerns to PTA and PEMRA. However, his request was denied and the authorities did not ban TikTok.<\/p>\n
While many argue that the social media app has been making obscene content available for underage kids, we believe any and everyone with a phone and internet connection can find that kind of content elsewhere.<\/p>\n
PTA has also issued a warning for TikTok, asking them to remove and block inappropriate content for viewers from Pakistan. They have asked them to oblige with the country’s laws and regulations.<\/p>\n
We hope that TikTok takes these matters into consideration and acts sooner rather than later. Many social media influencers in Pakistan depend on Tiktok to earn their daily bread.<\/p>\n
