<\/p>\nPakistani actor Rashid Mahmood is livid over the unfair payment for his service by Pakistan Television (PTV). The veteran actor lashed out at the national television network on social media for giving him a cheque of just Rs. 620!<\/p>\n

PTV has come under fire as people on social media were bewildered by a post shared by Rashid Mahmood this weekend. According to the actor\u2019s post on Twitter, he was awaiting payment for his recitation of Mir Anee\u2019s \u2018marsiya\u2019 for Muharram. The veteran actor performed the \u2019marsiya\u2019 two years ago after it was commissioned by Pakistan Television Lahore. Since then, it has since aired on the 9th and 10th of Muharram multiple times.<\/p>\n
However, PTV had yet to pay Rashid Mahmood till now.<\/p>\n

What is the criteria of paying a pride of performance winner in this country and who spend 50 years of life in PTV?” he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Meanwhile, PTV has maintained that the cheque Rashid Mahmood received was unintentional, and a result of a clerical mistake.<\/p>\n \u201cThe cheque issued to Rashid Mahmood was due to a misunderstanding. This was for something else and not for the work he did. The General Manager at PTV has looked into the matter and preparing a new check for Rashid Mahmood. Hopefully, this matter will be resolved soon,”\u00a0 PTV PRO Shakeel Malik stated.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n It remains to been if PTV does right by Rashid Mahmood and gives the former Pride of Performance winner his rightful amount.
