<\/p>\nThe Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore has awarded six death penalties on three counts to convicted criminal Sohail Shehazad for sexually abusing four young boys in Chunian.<\/p>\n

The ATC finally sentenced a child rapist and murderer to not just a life sentence but six death penalties upon conviction. The Anti-Terrorism Court\u2019s decision was made by Judge Muhammad Iqbal who announced the verdict after recording the statement of the accused under section 342.<\/p>\n

Suspect in Mureed Abbas Murder Case Escapes from Supreme Court [Video]<\/a><\/p>\n The Sohail Shehzad case began last year in Chunian city of district Kasur in Punjab.<\/p>\n According to the police, four children around the age of 8 and 12 went missing in June 2019. A case was registered under special provisions of terrorism. Upon investigation, the remains of the minors were recovered and evidence pointed to Sohail Shehzad for murdering and raping the four children.<\/p>\n ATC Judge Muhammad Iqbal has handed two life imprisonment terms to Sohail, six death penalties on three counts in two cases. He also ordered the convict to pay a fine of Rs. 2 million in addition to the Rs. 400,000 compensation to the victims\u2019 families.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n It remains to be seen if the punishment for his heinous crime is carried out and more criminals such as Sohail are brought forward to face justice.<\/p>\n What do you think?
