Two-time Academy Award winner, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy has joined a team of ace directors to helm the Ms. Marvel<\/strong> series.<\/p>\n

The Pakistani-American superhero, Kamala Khan is making it to Disney+. Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy has become Pakistan’s first filmmaker to co-direct the series, reports The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Marvel’s first Pakistani Muslim superhero, Kamala Khan was introduced to the world in 2012. It is about time that they bring some life into her character and that’s exactly what screenwriter Bisha K. Ali is doing right now.<\/p>\n

Chinoy along with this year’s Bad Boys for Life<\/em> directors, Adil El Arbi, Bilall Fallah and Farah Goes Bang<\/em> creator, Meera Menon will direct the Disney+ series.<\/p>\n

In addition to the series, the President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige has also said that Ms. Marvel <\/strong>will be featured on the big screen as well.<\/p>\n

Currently, they are searching for an actor who could play the role of Kamala Khan. The depiction of her struggles as a Pakistani-American woman with a religious family is an important aspect of her story.<\/p>\n

Chinoy, who won an Oscar in 2012 with her documentary, Saving Face, <\/em>bagged another Academy Award in 2015 for, A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness<\/i>. Her 15-minute silent short film Sitara: Let Girls Dream<\/em> also became the first Pakistani animated film to release on Netflix.<\/p>\n
