<\/p>\nOn Sunday, actress Yashma Gill was outraged to learn that two stray dogs, which she had adopted as pets, had been shot dead outside her home.<\/p>\n
The actress uploaded a video of her clash with one of the staff members of the Cantonment Board Lahore, demanding answers as to why her dogs were murdered while she was away.<\/p>\n

Recently, Pakistan has had issues with stray dogs, particularly in Karachi. Due to the rapid population of these unvaccinated animals, the government authorities resorted to lethal measures to cull the growing population of stray dogs. Their justifications – these dogs are responsible for spreading rabies. Although in some cases, such measures may be justified, others allege that it is nothing more than animal cruelty.<\/p>\n

The actress had a great fondness for the dogs as they were friendly and non-threatening to anyone.<\/p>\n She even vaccinated the two dogs and gave them names (Rano and Rani), and shared videos of playing them.<\/p>\n https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CFzZA5KDLGp\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link<\/p>\n However, when the actress was out of town, the Cantonment Board Lahore ordered to have the two stray dogs shot down. They were also vaccinated. They were such innocent dogs; do I show you their videos?” Gill asked the official as she burst into tears.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The official asked her to come back again and discuss the matter with Malik Ijaz, who is the authority figure he was filling in for at that time.
