The incident took place almost 2 weeks ago. Moreover, on Thursday, police officials arrested a close family relative. The relative was caught carrying the baby in CCTV footage obtained from a nearby location.<\/p>\n<p>The mother of the infant put her to sleep and then went to sleep herself. Once she woke up she found that her baby&#8217;s crib was empty. Distressed, she told her husband and family members of the situation.<\/p>\n<p>The family members looked for the baby but to no avail. Finally, the husband decided to obtain CCTV footage from a nearby location. In the footage, 2 women could be seen carrying the infant from their house. It was later determined that a close family member had abducted the child. On Thursday, police officials arrested the baby&#8217;s aunt [<em>khala<\/em>] and another accomplice.<\/p>\n<p>As it turns out, someone recognized one of the women in a burqa. The woman who kidnapped the child was her own\u00a0<em>khala\u00a0<\/em>[mother&#8217;s sister]. The accomplice has not been identified as of yet.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier a CCTV footage from a hospital in Karachi showed a woman kidnapping an infant from the hospital&#8217;s pediatric department. In another incident, a gang &#8211; disguised as hospital staff- was arrested for kidnapping and selling babies. They also arrested female nurses and doctors.<\/p>\n<p>We still can&#8217;t believe that someone&#8217;s sister could kidnap their baby.
