Pakistani high-altitude mountaineer Ali Sadpara disappeared on 5th February 2021. He was officially declared dead on 18th February, after rescue officials were unable to locate him and his team. Now, KP’s first-ever climbing wall has been named after one of the greatest climbers to come out of Pakistan.<\/p>\n

The 52-foot high climbing wall has been built in KP’s Qayyum Sports Complex. The total cost of the wall came to a whopping Rs. 10 million. The government of northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa inaugurated the wall and paid a tribute to Sadpara.<\/p>\n

According to the chief secretary Dr. Kazim Niaz the wall is named after Ali Sadpara to pay a rich tribute to him. In addition to this, he also revealed that many such facilities are underway. The total cost of these facilities is estimated to be Rs. 11 million.<\/p>\n

Amongst locations where these facilities will be built are Hayatabad Sports Complex, Mardan Sports Complex, Khairabad Tourism spot, District Nowshera, and Nowshera Sports Complex, Sports Complex Gunj Football Stadium, Abbottabad, Kohat Sports Complex, Qazi Mohib Sports Complex Banniu, Ratta Kulachi Sports Complex, and Dera Ismail Khan.<\/p>\n

The wall boasts three categories, including speed, technical and vertical. And it is named after one of the greatest climbers to motivate and encourage the youth. Muhammad Ali Sadpara, John Snorri from Iceland, and Jaun Pablo Mohr from Chile started their journey to the K2 summit from camp 3. However, they lost contact and were nowhere to be found.<\/p>\n

Ali Sadpara officially declared dead<\/h3>\n

On February 18th, the 45-year-old’s son Sajid Ali Sadpara declared him dead and said:<\/p>\n

Pakistan has lost a great mountaineer, my father and two other climbers are no more with us.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
