Therefore, a young bride from Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, asked for Rs 100K worth of books from her husband.<\/p>\n<p>Naila Shamal, a young author from Mardan tied the knot with a fellow author. However, for her <strong>haq mahr<\/strong>, she did not make the traditional demand for jewellery, money or property from her husband. Instead, she asked for something she values most \u2014 books.<\/p>\n<p>The young author asked for Rs100K worth of books in her <strong>haq mahr<\/strong>. In a video doing rounds on social media, Naila Shamal can be seen in her bridal attire, explaining why she asked for the unusual <strong>haq mahr<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"\">&#8220;I asked for books because, firstly, everything has become so expensive. We can&#8217;t afford these things [lavish weddings] due to inflation. I did this because we need to put an end to wrong customs.
