Former Big Boss Kannada contestant and actress Chaitra Kotoor has attempted suicide by consuming phenyl at her residence in Karnataka’s Kolar on Thursday.<\/p>\n
The actress, however, miraculously survived the incident and was immediately rushed to a local hospital. Doctors say that her condition is now stable.<\/p>\n
A couple of days ago, Chaitra Kotoor had announced her wedding with Mandya-based businessman Nagarjuna. But according to the reports, Nagarjuna’s family had refused to accept their relationship.<\/p>\n
Sources claim that Nagarjuna had previously alleged that he was “forced” to marry her against his wishes.<\/p>\n
Soon after the wedding, when the actress\u00a0went to Nagarjuna’s ancestral house, she was reportedly not allowed inside while the latter’s family had allegedly asked the couple not to enter the house, terming the marriage “invalid”, the police said quoting Chaitra’s statement.<\/p>\n
According to the police,\u00a0Chaitra had accused Nagarjuna of constantly delaying the wedding.<\/p>\n
“He was constantly brain-washed. So instead of delaying the wedding, we decided to tie the knot with the support of my family and community leaders. They bad-mouthed me, my job and even issued death threats if I do not let him go. So we requested to hold talks in Kolar instead of discussing in public,” she said in a statement.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
