Karachi police lodged a case against six and arrested four men over blackmail charges and driving a woman to commit suicide. Dunya News<\/a> reports the men were blackmailing a married woman with a fake marriage video.<\/p>\n

The case registered upon the complaint of the victim’s family includes murder amongst other charges. They asserted that the 41-year-old wife and mother was pushed to commit suicide after suffering blackmail at the hands of these men for days.<\/p>\n

According to Dawn News<\/a>, the deceased woman, Sobia received threats from the four men who lived in her neighborhood. They had made a video of her fake marriage and blackmailed her.<\/p>\n

Shahrah-e-Noorjehan police said that the victim ended her life by hanging herself from the ceiling fan with her dupatta.<\/p>\n

Her voice notes detailing the harassment, blackmailing, and threats shared her harrowing ordeal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am being harassed by the boys in the neighborhood and my phone number was also leaked. People are calling and threatening me to meet, … I have been threatened to visit them.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

These men were reportedly forcing her to visit them for ill-intended ‘favors’. They even threatened her children’s safety.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome boys scammed me and made my fake marriage video as well as compromised videos and later made it viral on the internet. I cannot see my children being murdered.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Details of the Blackmail – Suicide<\/h3>\n

According to The News<\/a>, the case was registered against Waqas, Farhan, Irtaza and Shahid on the complaint of Sobia’s husband. District Central Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Malik Murtaza confirmed the arrests and said Farhan and Waqas were the prime suspects.<\/p>\n

Police have identified five of the suspects as Amir, Waqas, Asad Farhan, Shehzad, and Shahid.\u00a0 Police booked the accused under Section 322 (Qatl-bis-sabab) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
