Express TV’s drama Oye Moti<\/em> is the latest talk of the town but for all the wrong reasons. It has undoubtedly become the most criticized drama ever since the teaser of its Episode 9 was released. But according to Kanwal Aftab, it’s not trying to promote body shaming but actually sheds light on the growing issue in our society.<\/p>\n

The plot is pretty simple. Each episode has a separate storyline and features different women who are constantly mocked over their bodies. Hence the name, Oye Moti<\/em>.\u00a0 However, they manage to overcome whatever hurdle comes their way.<\/p>\n

Why the Oye Moti<\/em> teaser sparked fury?<\/h3>\n

Episode 9 features TikToker Kanwal Aftab and Furqan Qureshi and the teaser has stirred outrage on social media. It follows the story of a woman who weighs over 160 Kgs and is often told to lose weight. But she isn’t bothered in the least. We even hear her say,<\/p>\n

“Why should I make my life a living hell for fear of death?”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The story takes a turn and we see her getting engaged with a handsome, young man, but right after their engagement, her fianc\u00e9 announces in front of everyone that her bride-to-be must lose 100 kgs within a year, threatening to otherwise call off the wedding.<\/p>\n
