You can finally take a sigh of relief because there won’t be any more Nand<\/em> torture on television. Yes, you read it right, the soap has finally concluded and we couldn’t be happier.<\/p>\n

What started off as an interesting story led by Faiza Hassan, soon morphed into a dismal watch. The characters became regressive and overly dramatic. Logic completely disappeared from the drama and every scene turned out to be loud and nonsensical.<\/p>\n

While there may be a lot of reasons to not like drama, we have shortlisted the top three reasons that made this drama to be absolutely unacceptable.<\/p>\n

1.The endless slaps<\/h2>\n

If one begins counting the number of times people in this drama were slapped then you’ll probably lose count. Men, women, the elderly, children, everyone was given the “royal” slap. What we fail to understand is why do makers like promoting such extremist behavior. Isn’t it possible to show two people disagreeing with each other in a decent manner? Makers of Nand clearly did not believe in this theory.<\/p>\n

2. Women turned into beasts<\/h2>\n

First Faiza Hassan was portrayed as the evil sister in law and then Javeria Saud took over the role. They did not essay the role of just any villain, they were turned into beasts. The drama focused on how women can pull each other down and destroy lives unapologetically.<\/p>\n

One is forced to believe that this is the only thing women know to do. It is unfortunate that such myths are reinforced on national television. It’s high time we start showing women supporting each other and stop depicting that they hate each other!<\/p>\n

3. Setting a bad example<\/h2>\n

The worst thing the drama could do was set horrible standards for joint families. There are many families in Pakistan that have a joint system, a home shared by everyone. But by viewing dramas like Nand, one is forced to believe that such systems could only make your life hell.<\/p>\n

It shows how people tend to plot and plan against each other in joint families. While this may be true to some extent `but reinforcing such beliefs will only hurt people.<\/p>\n

The End<\/h2>\n

Finally, after 138 episodes, the drama has wrapped up. In the last episode, the main character of the drama, Gohar, played by Javeria Saud, passes away. We were expecting something very similar because, in most of our dramas, the villain eventually has to die. That’s the only way out for them perhaps! Initially, the drama received a lot of love but soon people realized that there is something inherently wrong with this story.<\/p>\n

We hope we don’t get to watch more of these regressive serials and channels start working on fresh and relatable content! For now, we’re happy that this torture won’t continue in Ramazan.<\/p>\n
