April is a tough month for comedy lovers. A decade ago, one of the stalwarts of his time, Moin Akhtar passed away in the same month. His death left a void in the hearts of everyone. From his colleagues to his fans to his friends, nobody could ever forget the insurmountable talent that Moin possessed.<\/p>\n

Moin Akhtar and Anwar Maqsood’s friendship<\/h2>\n

Moin Akhtar made an iconic pairing with writer Anwar Maqsood, their show Loose Talk,<\/em> remains a favorite of many even today. The wit and humor shared by the two was truly timeless. Now even after so many years of his death, Anwar Maqsood feels that his best friend is with him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a lot to say about Moin which I haven\u2019t as yet. We worked together for 32 years; 32 years I wrote for him. And the way Moin delivered whatever I wrote, no one can.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meray liye tou Moin aj bhi hai, aksar meray kamray men aakay beth jaata hai, or meray kaaghaz cheen ke kehta hai \u2018kya likh rahay ho?\u2019 Phir phenk deta hai, kyunke unmen Moin ka naam nae hai<\/em>\u00a0[Moin is still alive for me today. Resuming Loose Talk<\/h2>\n

When asked about resuming Loose Talk,<\/em> Anwar Maqsood straight out rejected the idea. \u201cThere\u2019s no one in my eyes who can replace Moin; whether my script is serious or comic, Moin would always do justice to it,\u201d said Maqsood.<\/p>\n

He said that Moin was a class apart, from his timing to his delivery, everything was so perfect that one cannot even imagine anyone else doing his characters. He clearly owned them!<\/p>\n

The actor and comedian was born in Karachi on December 24, 1950. Starting from the theater at the age of 16, Moin Akhtar stepped into the world of television in the sixties and became a household name, continuing on the path to cementing his name as one of Pakistan\u2019s greatest ever artists.<\/p>\n

Moin Akhtar\u2019s famous TV dramas include \u2018Rozi\u2019, \u2018Intezar Farmaiye\u2019, \u2018Bund Road\u2019, \u2018Aangan Terha\u2019, \u2018Studio Dhai\u2019, \u2018Studio Ponay Teen\u2019, \u2018Yes Sir, No Sir\u2019 and \u2018Eid Train\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n
