There are numerous ways people torture animals but throwing acid has to be one of the most barbaric ones. On the morning of Eid al-Fitr, Ayesha Chundrigar and the ACF Animal Rescue team\u00a0reported that three dogs had faced brutal acid attacks leading to devastating wounds all over\u00a0their bodies.<\/p>\n

The event was particularly shocking because it took place on a day that celebrates the end of the holiest month and yet these voiceless creatures were made to suffer. The dogs were said to be friendly neighborhood street pets who didn\u2019t cause harm to passers-by; nonetheless, they were harmed for reasons unknown.<\/p>\n

After Chundrigar was shown footage of the dogs, she headed to their rescue immediately. Although the three street dogs had been vaccinated and neutered only a few weeks prior in Ramzan, while posing no threat to anyone, they were attacked with burning acid near FB Area around sunrise.<\/p>\n

“The first dog was found breathing heavily as the acid spread across her body, making the wounds bigger and increasing her body temperature up to 109 degrees Fahrenheit.<\/p>\n

\u201c109 and this dog is still breathing and surviving. Never in the history of animal rescue have we witnessed this high temperature and alive,\u201d stated the ACF team.<\/p>\n

Seeing the dog in this state, they had to act fast as her condition kept getting worse. The dog was in complete shock and was struggling to stay alive but Ayesha Chundrigar, with her team, did the best they could to mend the dog\u2019s wounds by giving her ice cubes to stabilize her body temperature. Her team then put bandages around the dog and treated her back to better health.<\/p>\n

\nACF reportedly had exactly two similar cases from last year with two dogs who were also acid attack survivors. After seeing the dog go through so much suffering, the ACF team named her \u2018Faith\u2019 as a representation of the faith people need in this age and era, in this world and time of cruelty. Since the canine lost her faith in humanity, Ayesha Chundrigar and the foundation will ensure it is restored.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cWe are out of words as to who and what are such humans who forget everything and resort to such barbaric and violent behavior. We strongly condemn such acts. We are condemning what\u2019s happening in the world but not looking at our actions. What sort of selective humanity is this? The holy month wraps up and it\u2019s time to abuse the friendly animals? Who are voiceless, vulnerable, and completely innocent?\u201d voiced Ayesha Chundrigar.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nChundrigar and the ACF team have been working tirelessly for eight years for the betterment of animal life and society as a whole and yet they have seen constant abuse as well as injustice on the most innocent of animals.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople still dare to ask us \u2018why are you helping animals and not people?\u2019 Do you know why? Because only by helping animals, the most vulnerable in society, can compassion truly exist.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Stepping up to be the voice for the voiceless once again Ayesha Chundrigar hopes to spread awareness on this matter, making a call to action to stop these heinous crimes against street
\ndogs once and for all. While Eid is meant to be a celebration with family and friends, Chundrigar and her team were working strenuously to improve the dogs\u2019 health.<\/p>\n
