Recently Pakistani actress Sonya Hussyn voiced an unpopular opinion about movie star Mahira Khan’s Raees<\/em><\/strong>. Now, filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy has slammed her for it.<\/p>\n

A three years old clip of the Saraab<\/em><\/strong> actress but surfaced online leading to all the discussion on the matter. Back in 2018, during her appearance on Yasir Hussain’s ‘The After Moon Show<\/a>‘, Sonya Hussyn voiced an unpopular opinion.<\/p>\n

During a rapid-fire round on the show, Yasir Hussain asked the Tichh Button<\/em><\/strong> actress that if she was Mahira Khan, which one of her film would she have not done?<\/p>\n

The Ishq Zahey Naseeb<\/em><\/strong> actor was given three options: Verna<\/em><\/strong>, Raees<\/em><\/strong>, and Ho Mann Jahan<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Sonya said Raees<\/em><\/strong>. She then explained her choice stating that;<\/p>\n

\u201cNo never it\u2019s not my dream to work with Shah Rukh Khan, … You should [play] the character in which you are prominent and [is] not the side

\n

The starlet would have wanted a more central role than play secondary to a male protagonist, as it is with most Bollywood movies.<\/p>\n

However, given Bollywood Badshah’s star power, SRK films always make it big at the box office and so did Raees<\/em><\/strong>. In fact, it did so well it’s in the 100 Crore club.<\/p>\n

Oscar-winning director Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy didn’t like what the Azaad<\/em> <\/strong>actress had to say. The filmmaker slammed the actress saying;<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t think you\u2019ll ever be Mahira Khan so you won\u2019t ever get to say no. Don\u2019t dis other women in the industry reflects poorly on you and your upbringing.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
