Bollywood veteran, Dilip Kumar has passed away from medical issues after being hospitalized last week. Although widely known by his stage name, Muhammed Yusuf Khan passed away at the age of 98.<\/p>\n

A family friend of Dilip Kumar’s family, Faisal Farooqui, shared the news on the legendary actor’s official Twitter.<\/p>\n

The Hindustan Times<\/a> had reported that Dilip Kumar had been admitted to the intensive care unit on June 30th due to medical issues stemming from old age. He was earlier admitted to the same hospital on June 6th after experiencing breathlessness.<\/p>\n

End Of An Era<\/h3>\n

Dilip Kumar is one of the most prominent actors from the ‘Golden Era of Bollywood’, a time of classic films back in the 1940s to the 1960s. He’s known for his particular style of acting and of course his dialogue delivery.<\/p>\n

His wife, Saira Bano was also a popular leading lady from the 1960s to 1970s.<\/p>\n

He was often referred to as ‘The Tragedy King’ due to his brooding good looks. As well as ‘The First Khan’, noting the legendary status of a Muslim actor in Hindi film, in an era when he had to change his stage name to something that didn’t give his religious identity away.<\/p>\n
