Dur-e-Fishan Saleem is currently portraying the role of Aiman in the ARY Digital drama Pardes<\/em>. She is representing the second generation in the drama and is the daughter of Zubaida and Ahsan (played by Shaista Lodhi and Sarmad Khoosat respectively).<\/p>\n

Pardes<\/em> made a good start and we are really looking forward to how the two women change their perspective along the course of the drama.<\/p>\n

Dur-e-Fishan Saleem recently sat in an interview with BBC Urdu<\/strong> to share her stance on the portrayal of women on television.<\/p>\n

“I think women shape the whole narrative on our TV,” she said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

According to the Dil Ruba<\/em> actress, the representation of women in our dramas is correct, because as a society we praise those who are returning back to the men who belittle them. However, this representation needs to change so that it makes a difference in our society and people start to induce a change in their mindset.<\/p>\n

Relating it to the drama Pardes<\/em>, she said,<\/p>\n

\u201cZubaida is glorified because she is compromising. It isn\u2019t a slight compromise that we all should make but she is compromising to a point that she is neglecting her children.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
