Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Aly recently invited criticism after starring in the Zee5 web series Dhoop Ki Deewar<\/em><\/strong>. However, the actor has shared his inspiration to sign up for the Indo-Pakistan drama series.<\/p>\n

Written by Umera Ahmed, the web series follows the story of a Hindu (played by Ahad) and a Muslim (played by Sajal) who are united by grief despite all the animosity. When the teasers were released, people raised objections that Dhoop Ki Deewar<\/em><\/strong> is trying to present a positive image of India and hurts the sentiments of Kashmiris.<\/p>\n

But for Ahad Raza Mir, it was a message of peace and love. In a recent interview<\/a>, the\u00a0Ehd-e-Wafa<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>actor revealed why he decided to sign up for the project.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhenever I consider a script or a character, the first thing that I look for selfishly as an actor is what this is going to do for me in terms of a challenge? Also, when it comes to the story, I always feel like it needs to have some kind of hook to it which doesn\u2019t just get me involved as an actor, but the audience as well,\u201d he explained.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cWhen the script of Dhoop Ki Deewar\u00a0<\/em>came to me, it was less about the character and more about the story, and more about me wanting to be a part of something that within our society is a statement of peace and love, and a willingness, in fact, a yearning, to move forward.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Speaking about his hesitation to take on the project due to the political tension between the two countries, he explained,<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, in the beginning, I was a little worried because there are tensions happening all the time, but I felt that I have to move past this fear with the confidence that something like this can help us move forward. So that was really the inspiration behind signing\u00a0Dhoop Ki Deewar<\/em>.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
