The programme is called <strong><em>Patakha Pictures<\/em><\/strong>, and it aims to empower women storytellers and filmmakers in Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>The two-time Oscar winner took to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/sharmeenobaidchinoy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> to announce the launch of the new platform and shared that she wants to &#8217;empower, promote &amp; support the next generation of women filmmakers and storytellers in Pakistan&#8217; to create powerful, thought-provoking works of fiction and non-fiction.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Telling stories that matter is important to me and I also know how hard it is to find the finances and mentorship to do so&#8230;,&#8221; she began.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\t<blockquote  \r\n\t\tclass=\"instagram-media\" \r\n\t\tdata-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CTCHwZLIe6-\/\" \r\n\t\tdata-instgrm-version=\"14\" \r\n\t\tstyle=\"max-width:540px; min-width:300px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\">\r\n\t<\/blockquote>\r\n\t<script async src=\"\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script>\r\n\r\n\t\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Revealing the details, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy wrote,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;At SOC films we routinely get emails, calls and visits from young women across Pakistan who want to be able to tell their stories and so today I\u2019m launching a platform that I hope will help them do so!
