While Iran’s Islamic body compelled cartoon characters to wear a hijab, Pakistan’s Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) took it a step further and banned female actresses playing ‘hoors’ on television.<\/p>\n
The CII is basically a constitutional body that influences legislature based on the member’s idea of whether or not a certain law is repugnant to Islam.<\/p>\n
Based on their understanding, the body slammed the display of women as ‘hoors’. CII even dubbed this completely ‘inappropriate in light of Islamic teachings<\/em>‘.<\/p>\n\t\t The move comes after a young girl was presented as a ‘hoor’ at a 12th Rabi-ul-Awal celebration in Multan. Many sections of society slammed the display of the young girl as a ‘hoor’ given the context of the term.<\/p>\n For context, hoors are virgin females made for men that go to heaven. However, the Quran mentions men in Jannah (heaven) and their wives, not these virgin rewards.<\/p>\n \u201cEnter the Garden, you and your wives, you will be made glad.
