While Pakistani women have made their presence felt in many different professions and disciplines in the country, it would not be a stretch to say that their depiction in television shows remains trapped in the \u2018bechaari\u2019 domain. A project like \u2018Aik Hai Nigar<\/strong><\/em>\u2019<\/strong> therefore comes like a breath of fresh air, for it shatters the stereotypes surrounding the hackneyed depiction of the \u2018oppressed\u2019 woman at many different levels.<\/p>\n

Actress Mahira Khan honored the strength, assurance, and versatility of a refined Pakistan Army official, Lieutenant General Nigar Johar, by depicting her personality in a biopic (telefilm) Aik Hai Nigar<\/strong><\/em>. As Pakistan Army’s first female Three-Star General, Johar is an awe-inspiring phenomenon, and her inspirational story is a must-watch.<\/p>\n

The film is produced by Mahira Khan and Nina Kashif\u2019s Soulfry Films<\/em>, who in collaboration with ISPR, leave no stone unturned to showcase an authentic account of Nigar Johar\u2019s journey<\/p>\n

The biopic is thought to be an ode to empowerment and overcoming a tragedy. Despite’s Humsafar diva’s strong portrayal of the role, many found some loopholes in the script.<\/p>\n

A dialogue from the telefilm received severe backlash, doctors are infuriated and thus initiated a hashtag against the film #OrdinaryDoctor<\/a><\/p>\n

“We aren\u2019t ordinary doctors. We are doctors in uniform. Our Public have many hopes and expectations from us\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
