Virat Kohli as the team Captain stood up in defense of his fellow teammate, which triggered a floodgate of abuses and rape threats to his 10-month-old daughter.<\/p>\n

The India skipper and now captain Virat Kohli<\/a> is known for his bold statements and taking a stand against what he feels is wrong. This time he came to support Mohammad Shami, who was abused and trolled on social media platforms for being a Muslim and hence, a \u2018traitor\u2019.<\/p>\n Issuing a strong statement against these trolls he said,<\/p>\n “To me, attacking someone over their religion is the most pathetic thing that a human being can do. Everyone has the right to voice their opinion and what they feel about a certain situation. But personally, I have never, ever thought of discriminating against someone over their religion”.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n He added<\/p>\n “That is a very personal and sacred thing to every human being and that should be left there.
