From their journey together, to how different her life has been after marriage. In one of the questions, someone asked her how different is she finding her married life. To which she responded;<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been great so far, Alhamdulillah! The only thing I\u2019ve been struggling with is referring to my husband\u2019s house as [my] home.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In our patriarchal society, a married woman ‘belongs’ to the family she married into. In some cases, they are even forced to sever ties with their own family. Even when the circumstances aren’t so extreme, women in our society are conditioned to think that once they get married, the home they grew up in is not theirs anymore.<\/p>\n

They are expected to believe that their husband\u2019s house is their only place now.<\/p>\n

As a research analyst, Zunaira Inam is far too well-read to believe such obsolete ideas. In fact, she raised a very important question regarding the matter.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut on a deeper level, why should a woman have to choose? Why can\u2019t both homes just be home? They should be.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\t\t
