Hadiqa Kiani recently appeared in an interview and shared about the roles she is playing in dramas. The singer-turned-actor broke the stereotypes with her powerful role, first in the drama serial Raqeeb Se<\/em><\/strong> and then in the ongoing drama serial Dobara.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Hadiqa<\/p>\n

Hadiqa Kiani<\/a> is a famous singer, songwriter, actress, television presenter, and philanthropist of the Pakistan showbiz industry. Besides Urdu and Punjabi, she has sung many songs in the Pashto language. In 2006, Kiani received the fourth highest Pakistan civilian award, the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, for her contributions to the field of music. In 2010, she was appointed as a United Nations Development Program Goodwill ambassador, making her the first woman in Pakistan to be a Goodwill Ambassador to the United Nations.<\/p>\n

After a long break, the diva has made a comeback to our television screens as an actor. She has done two dramas so far and did a phenomenal job in both of them. Lately, she is appearing in the drama Dobara <\/em><\/strong>as a strong middle-aged woman, who is recently widowed.<\/p>\n

During the interview she opened up about her role in serial Dobara<\/em><\/strong>, she said<\/p>\n

“I feel like I’m finding myself from the character of Mehro. That feeling of loneliness and suffocation that other people are navigating your life is the reason I wanted to do this role. I agreed to this because I related to it.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

She further added,<\/p>\n

\u201cI accepted the role of Mehro in Dobara because there are so many Mehro\u2019s around me including myself. Women in gyms, salons, and airports come to me and say that they can relate to Mehro even though their husbands are standing with them. They just say we see Mehro in ourselves.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Hona Tha Pyar<\/strong><\/em> singer also talked about the loveless marriages which is imposed on young girls and even men.<\/p>\n

“There are many men in our societies who are keeping their marriage going because of their responsibilities without love. Husbands cant relate with their wives and wives cant relate with their husbands. They are loveless forced marriages. Same like the character of Hidayat Ullah and Mehro.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
