The young composer, musician, singer, and now actor grew up with his mother after his parents divorced. After the divorce proceedings, the Lahore High Court awarded the custody rights of Azaan to Zeba Bakhtiar.<\/p>\n

In 1997, the Mahi Ve<\/em> <\/strong>singer abducted his son and started living in Dubai. At the time the Sargam<\/em><\/strong> actress appealed to the High Court to regain custody of Azaan. Then when she appealed before the Canadian Court in May 1998, Canadian officials almost broke into Adnan’s home, arrested him, and quietly took away his son.<\/p>\n\t\t

Later in 2002, the singer appeared before a Pakistani court for custody of Azaan. He asserted that his ex-wife had previously misguided the court to get sole rights over their son. He then sued the Canadian Government for having whisked away Azaan and $30 million in damages. He claims to have won the case.<\/p>\n
