Pakistani-American filmmaker Mohammad Ali Naqvi bagged an Emmy nomination with his documentary. His documentary Turning Point: 9\/11 and the War on Terror<\/em><\/strong> landed an Academy Award nomination.<\/p>\n

The Netflix docu-series is nominated in the ‘Outstanding Politics and Government Documentary<\/em>‘ category. Mohammad Ali Naqvi was co-executive producer of these works.<\/p>\n\n\t\t

So better to announce this news than the first Pakistani Academy member to announce that the five-part docu-series has been nominated for the prestigious award. That’s Mohammad Ali Naqvi himself, by the way. In an Instagram post<\/a>, he shared the news.<\/p>\n

The five-part series covers the 9\/11 terrorist attacks, Al Qaeda\u2019s roots in the 1980s, and America\u2019s response. It goes back to the emergence of Islamic fundamentalism being fostered, nurtured, and funded by the United States.<\/p>\n

Starting from the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, a culmination of a series of coups and counter-coups, the series then follows events as they unfold till present day. The series includes interviews with White House officials, military leaders, journalists, and even former Taliban leaders alongside some mind-blowing claims.<\/p>\n

It was released back on September 1, 2021.<\/p>\n\t\t
