Looks like Korean content is set to dominate the competitive sphere surrounding the Academy Awards. From Parasite<\/em><\/strong> kicking it out of the ballpark to Squid Game<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0making history at the Emmy Awards.<\/p>\n

Squid Game<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0made history by becoming the first foreign-language television show to take home the top awards at the Emmy Awards yesterday.<\/p>\n\t\t

This includes Lee Jung-jae, who plays player 456, bagging the award for Best Actor, Hwang Dong-hyuk being awarded the Best Director award. A huge milestone for Asians and Koreans in particular, as this marks the first win by an Asian in the category.<\/p>\n

Needless to say, this is as much a milestone as back when South Korean film Parasite<\/em><\/strong> swept the Oscars 2020 bagging award after award.<\/p>\n

He told Deadline<\/a> that Lee Jung-jae\u2019s character Seong Gi-hun, otherwise known as Number 456, is out for revenge in the next season. Hwang said that the biggest change will be that he comes back with a different character, more serious.<\/p>\n\n

Meanwhile, Lee Jung Jae told Deadline that he hasn\u2019t even seen a script yet.<\/p>\n
