Resham<\/a> responds to the backlash she got over throwing plastic in a river while feeding the local marine life. The clip of her throwing plastic went viral on social media as people criticized her for being so careless.<\/p>\n

“I was merely offering sadqah<\/em>,” Resham wrote.<\/p>\n

The veteran actress made an apology blaming the blunder on her contracting COVID-19.<\/p>\n

“I tested positive for COVID-19 twice, and I happen to be absent minded because of that,” Resham told a local news outlet.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

However, the 53-year-old claps back at netizen for their “selective outrage”. She states that there are bigger issues to deal with instead of focusing on her little gaffe.<\/p>\n

“I admit to having made a mistake by throwing the plastic,” Resham said. “But women are being raped everyday, and violence against women is on an uncanny rise, yet they’re all blinded by a piece of plastic.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The veteran Lollywood actress is also upset with public for making such a fuss over the incident that it is overshadowing her charitable work in the Charsadda district.<\/p>\n

“I have been in Charsadda district, quietly helping thousands of affectees in the calamity hit district, but of course, people are only trolling me instead of focusing on the positive.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Netizen aren’t taking kindly to Resham’s statement. People think she shouldn’t drag rape victims to defend herself. Many want her to just own up to her mistake instead of deflecting the blame.<\/p>\n
