Britain’s official coin-making company, the Royal Mint, is issuing a new coin collection to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first Harry Potter\u00a0<\/em>book which was published in 1997.<\/p>\n

It announced the news on its website saying, “To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the publication of ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone<\/em>‘, we have struck a range of spellbinding coins featuring a portrait of Harry Potter created by Jim Kay and Ffion Gwillim”.<\/p>\n

The upcoming coin set will not only have the face of ‘The Boy Who Lived’ but the other side will have tributes to the late Queen Elizabeth II and new King Charles III as well. It will also contain other unique coins featuring Albus Dumbledore, the Hogwarts Express, and the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.<\/p>\n

The Royal Mint reportedly created the coins using special lasers to keep the design as accurate as possible and stated that its new collection will be one of “a small number” that will feature a change of reverse portrait.<\/p>\n

The first set of coins will feature the image of Queen Elizabeth II, and the final two, which will be issued next year, will feature the soon-to-be coronated King Charles.<\/p>\n\t\t

The Harry Potter <\/em><\/strong>series by UK author JK Rowling\u00a0is one of the most famous and beloved franchises around the world. The book series went on to become a successful film franchise starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Tom Felt, Maggie Smith, and the late Alan Rickman, Robbie Coltrane<\/a>, Richard Griffiths, and Richard Harris.<\/p>\n
