Oscar-winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will be directing a new but untitled Star Wars\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>film.<\/p>\n

According to Deadline Hollywood, the Pakistani-Canadian filmmaker has been brought on board ahead of the final script so that her own vision for where the story is headed is included.<\/p>\n

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will be working with American screenwriter Damon Lindelof in this secret new film for Lucasfilms, a subsidiary of Walt Disney Studios. Lindelof, who has written for shows like Watchmen<\/em><\/strong> and\u00a0Lost<\/em><\/strong>, will be co-writing the script. For now, it is unknown who his writing partner will be. Meanwhile, no script means production is not currently in sight.<\/p>\n\t\t
