An Iranian man, who was dubbed by media as “the world’s dirtiest man,” passed away on Sunday at the age of 94. The man, Amou Haji, had become ill shortly after taking his first bath in decades.<\/p>\n

Haji had refused to use soap or water to clean himself for over half a century, fearing it would make him sick.<\/p>\n

According to reports, the man was a reclusive hermit who lived in the village of Dejgah in the southern province of Fars and resided in a hole in the ground and a brick shack.<\/p>\n

Years of not bathing had left Haji covered in filth and pus. It was reported that his diet had consisted of rotten meat and dirty water that he drank from an old oil can. He is also said to have been fond of porcupine meat.<\/p>\n\t\t

Over the years, the locals had made many attempts to get him to take a bath and Haji has given in this year a few months ago.<\/p>\n
